“Georgia’s Future Academy”, under the coalitional Election Monitoring Mission “My Vote”, was observing the 2024 parliamentary elections nationwide, including the polling stations abroad.
The mission united up to 2000 citizens, from which approximately 1000 were observing the polling stations under “Georgia’s Future Academy’s” name.
Election day was marked by fundamental violations. Throughout the day, our observers faced constant pressure, disruptions, and restrictions that prevented them from conducting thorough monitoring. They were harassed both verbally and physically, denied access without justification, and, in some cases, forcibly removed from polling stations. Additionally, their complaints were frequently ignored. Neither the Central Election Commission nor law enforcement agencies responded to these violations—on election day or afterward.
On election day our observers attested:
-
Violation of voting secrecy
-
Voting on behalf of another person / multiple voting
-
Failure to check for ink and allowing voting without inking
-
Issuing multiple ballots to a single voter
-
Obstruction of election observers from monitoring the registrar's work
-
Disruption of the monitoring process
-
Verbal and physical harassment of voters and observers
-
Presence of unauthorized individuals in polling stations
-
Political agitation by commission members
-
Attempted influence or control over voters' choices
-
Tampering with the ballot box and ballots
The amount of evidence regarding these violations is overwhelming. This clearly indicates that the electoral process did not take place in a safe and peaceful environment, nor were the elections democratic, fair, or transparent
The results of this election do not demonstrate the will of the Georgian people!
